The
mast carved out and rough sanded, I managed to get
some lovely Sitka Spruce from Robins Timber in the UK.
No knots at all, and no fade out in the grain. I am
very pleased with what they delivered. It was
expensive. This
ring bolt goes through the mast about an inch
above deck level. It will get a block, or perhaps
just have a line through it, running to a cleat on
the foredeck forward of the coaming, for
tensioning the luff.
